Mi Buenos Aires Querida!!

I went to Buenos Aires with my husband and parents for a week!! it is more then enough for visiting the main places.. but is so owrthy to stay longer and eat their wonderfull meat. :) I loved it!!

They have really good restaurants, specially in Puerto Madero area. I´ve been to many argentinian restaurants, such as Cabana Las Lilas (http://www.laslilas.com/restaurant.php) ; El Potrillo (http://www.elpotrilloweb.com.ar/); El Mirasol (http://www.elmirasol.com.ar/) - you can also find this one in Recoleta neighbourhood; and a really good Italian one, also in Puerto Madero, Sottovoce (http://sottovoceristorante.com.ar/)

For shopping is good too, but nothing comparing to USA. They have great prices in PUMA things and Lacoste, tough.

For Alfajores there are many brands, all of them are good. But the best is HAVANNA. Of course the have good ones cheaper: Cabsha, Terrabusi (http://www.latinmerchant.com/productdetail.asp?ProductID=SSD0139), Jorgito (http://www.alfajores-jorgito.com/), etc.

There are different neighbourhoods in town. I stayed at downtown. At Paraguay ave., it was very close to Florida ave. It was one of the important palces to shop, eat, and just wal around.

Cathedral

Casa Rosada

you should go to: Casa Rosada ( Presidential Office), it´s at Plaza de Mayo, you can also see the Cathedral and other historical buildings. Recoleta neighbourhood is a nice place...  there´s a park, where they have an open market on sundays, and the cemitery with Evita´s grave, also the Museum of Belas Artes, and the Metal Flor - is a monumental sculpter, very beautiful.

Evita Peron´s grave

El Caminito

You should also visit the Caminito, a historical neighbourhood where italian imigrantes used to live, they still have tradicional crafts as lime perfume and soap ( smeels good!!), and a little museum area. And the Boca Juniors Soccer Stadium is in that area too. But I heard is not the saffest place in the city, so you should go with a city tour or a bus tour.

Of course you should go to a Tango Show!! I went to Carlos Gardel, is a dinner - show. WONDERFUL!! - http://www.esquinacarlosgardel.com.ar/

Café Tortoni

Another Icon of the city is Café Tortoni  - great place to eat cakes, sandwiches, anything! There´s always a big line to get in, and the service is not so good, but worthy to go!
