They have really good restaurants, specially in Puerto Madero area. I´ve been to many argentinian restaurants, such as Cabana Las Lilas (http://www.laslilas.com/restaurant.php) ; El Potrillo (http://www.elpotrilloweb.com.ar/); El Mirasol (http://www.elmirasol.com.ar/) - you can also find this one in Recoleta neighbourhood; and a really good Italian one, also in Puerto Madero, Sottovoce (http://sottovoceristorante.com.ar/)
For shopping is good too, but nothing comparing to USA. They have great prices in PUMA things and Lacoste, tough.
For Alfajores there are many brands, all of them are good. But the best is HAVANNA. Of course the have good ones cheaper: Cabsha, Terrabusi (http://www.latinmerchant.com/productdetail.asp?ProductID=SSD0139), Jorgito (http://www.alfajores-jorgito.com/), etc.
There are different neighbourhoods in town. I stayed at downtown. At Paraguay ave., it was very close to Florida ave. It was one of the important palces to shop, eat, and just wal around.
Cathedral
Casa Rosada
Evita Peron´s grave
El Caminito
Of course you should go to a Tango Show!! I went to Carlos Gardel, is a dinner - show. WONDERFUL!! - http://www.esquinacarlosgardel.com.ar/
Café Tortoni
Another Icon of the city is Café Tortoni - great place to eat cakes, sandwiches, anything! There´s always a big line to get in, and the service is not so good, but worthy to go!
